Mycophenolate Mofetil

Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) is an immunosuppressant prodrug of mycophenolic acid (MPA). It selectively inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), an enzyme essential for the de novo synthesis of guanosine nucleotides. Since T and B lymphocytes rely solely on this pathway for proliferation, MMF effectively suppresses immune-mediated graft rejection and autoimmune flare-ups.
