Myfortic

Myfortic contains mycophenolate sodium, an immunosuppressant agent that inhibits the enzyme inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase. This action blocks the de novo pathway of guanosine nucleotide synthesis, which selectively inhibits the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes, helping to prevent the rejection of transplanted kidneys.

Dosage by Body Weight

The standard adult dose is 720 mg taken orally twice daily (1440 mg daily dose) on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Tablets must be swallowed whole and not crushed, chewed, or split to protect the enteric coating. Pediatric dosing is strictly determined by a specialist based on Body Surface Area (BSA).
