Liposomal Amphotericin B

Liposomal Amphotericin B is a sterile, non-pyrogens lyophilized product for intravenous infusion. It consists of amphotericin B intercalated into a liposomal membrane, which significantly improves its safety profile, particularly reducing nephrotoxicity compared to conventional amphotericin B deoxycholate, while maintaining potent antifungal activity against a broad spectrum of fungal pathogens.

Dosage by Body Weight

Must be administered by intravenous infusion only. Do not administer as an intravenous bolus. Dilute only with 5% Dextrose Injection; do not mix with saline or other drugs. Typical adult and pediatric dosage ranges from 3 to 5 mg/kg/day depending on the severity and type of infection. Infuse over 60-120 minutes. Premedication with antipyretics, antihistamines, or antiemetics may be used to prevent infusion-related reactions.
