Amphonex
Amphonex contains Liposomal Amphotericin B, a sterile, non-pyrogenic lyophilized powder for intravenous infusion. It is an antifungal antibiotic that acts by binding to sterols (ergosterol) in the cell membrane of susceptible fungi, leading to alterations in cell permeability and subsequent cell death. The liposomal formulation significantly reduces systemic toxicity, particularly nephrotoxicity, compared to conventional Amphotericin B deoxycholate.

Dosage is highly individualized and calculated based on body weight, indication, and renal function. Standard therapeutic dosing ranges from 1 mg/kg/day to 5 mg/kg/day depending on the severity of the infection.
