Midazolam

Midazolam is a short-acting benzodiazepine central nervous system (CNS) depressant. It has sedative, amnestic, anxiolytic, muscle relaxant, and anticonvulsant properties. It is commonly administered intravenously for conscious sedation before diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, or via nasal/buccal routes for emergency rescue treatment of seizures.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosage must be individualized. It is highly dependent on the patient's age, weight, clinical status, and the specific medical procedure or condition being treated. Administered only by healthcare professionals or trained caregivers in emergency seizure situations. Close monitoring of respiratory and cardiovascular function is required.
