Nayzilam

Nayzilam is a benzodiazepine nasal spray containing midazolam, used as a rescue medication for the short-term treatment of seizure clusters in patients 12 years of age and older.

Dosage by Body Weight

Administer one spray (5 mg) into one nostril. A second dose (5 mg) may be administered into the opposite nostril after 10 minutes if the seizure has not stopped, or if another seizure occurs. Do not administer more than 2 doses for a single episode. Do not treat more than 1 episode every 3 days or more than 5 episodes per month.

Purpose

Acute treatment of intermittent, stereotypic episodes of frequent seizure activity (i.e., seizure clusters, acute repetitive seizures) that are distinct from a patient's usual seizure pattern in patients with epilepsy 12 years of age and older.
