Buccolam
Buccolam contains midazolam, a fast-acting benzodiazepine. It is designed for buccal administration (given into the side of the mouth, between the gums and the cheek) to stop ongoing convulsive seizures quickly without requiring intravenous access.
Dosage by Body Weight
Buccolam is prescribed in pre-filled, color-coded oral syringes corresponding to age-specific doses. It must only be used by parents or caregivers where the patient has been diagnosed with epilepsy. Administer a single dose slowly into the buccal cavity. Seek immediate medical assistance if the seizure does not stop within 5 to 10 minutes of administration.
