Isokin

Isokin contains Isoniazid, an antibacterial medication that belongs to the class of antitubercular drugs. It works by preventing the growth of the bacteria that cause tuberculosis, specifically by disrupting the bacterial cell wall synthesis. It is usually prescribed in combination with other anti-TB medications to treat active disease and as monotherapy for latent tuberculosis prevention. Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) is often recommended concurrently to prevent peripheral neuropathy.

Dosage by Body Weight

Must be taken exactly as prescribed by a doctor, usually once daily on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals) to ensure optimal absorption. Do not skip doses or stop therapy early, as this can lead to drug-resistant strains of tuberculosis.
