Iso 300

Iso 300 contains Isoniazid 300mg, a primary antituberculosis medication. It interferes with lipid and nucleic acid biosynthesis in actively growing tubercle bacilli, rendering it highly effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Dosage by Body Weight

Take once daily on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Often administered alongside Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) to reduce the risk of peripheral neuropathy.

  1. Body Weight
    Below 5 kg
    Dose
    Not recommended using 300mg tablets
    Frequency
    Consult pediatrician
    Tracking Notes
Requires pediatric-specific liquid or lower-strength dispersible formulations to ensure accurate dosing.
  2. Body Weight
    5-7 kg
    Dose
50 mg to 70 mg daily
    Frequency
    Once daily
    Tracking Notes
Splitting a 300mg tablet to this size is highly inaccurate; use 50mg or 100mg dispersible tablets instead.
  3. Body Weight
    8-10 kg
    Dose
80 mg to 100 mg daily (approx. 1/3 tablet)
    Frequency
    Once daily
    Tracking Notes
Use of pediatric-specific strengths (e.g., 100mg) is strongly recommended over splitting 300mg tablets.
  4. Body Weight
    11-15 kg
    Dose
110 mg to 150 mg daily (approx. 1/2 tablet)
    Frequency
    Once daily
    Tracking Notes
A 300mg tablet may be split into halves if scored, but pediatric formulations remain safer.
  5. Body Weight
    16-20 kg
    Dose
160 mg to 200 mg daily (approx. 2/3 tablet)
    Frequency
    Once daily
    Tracking Notes
Ensure regular monitoring of liver enzymes (AST/ALT) throughout the treatment course.
