Racedot

Racedot contains Racecadotril, which is an oral enkephalinase inhibitor. It acts as an antisecretory agent that reduces the hypersecretion of water and electrolytes into the intestinal lumen, thereby managing acute diarrhea effectively without affecting the basal secretion or prolonging intestinal transit time.

Dosage by Body Weight

The recommended dose of Racecadotril is determined by body weight in pediatric patients (approximately 1.5 mg/kg per dose, three times daily). In adults, the standard dose is 100 mg three times daily. It should be administered along with abundant fluid intake or Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS).
