Neomycin, Polymyxin B, and Dexamethasone Ophthalmic
This medication is a combination of two broad-spectrum antibiotics (Neomycin and Polymyxin B) and a corticosteroid (Dexamethasone). The antibiotics work by stopping the growth of bacteria, while the corticosteroid reduces swelling, redness, and itching in the eye. It is strictly indicated for ophthalmic use and should not be swallowed or injected.
Dosage by Body Weight
Ophthalmic Suspension: Shake well before use. Instill 1 to 2 drops into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) 4 to 6 times daily. In severe cases, drops may be used hourly, with dosage gradually reduced as inflammation subsides.
