Maxitrol
Maxitrol is a combination ophthalmic medication containing two antibiotics (Neomycin and Polymyxin B) to fight bacterial infections, and a corticosteroid (Dexamethasone) to reduce inflammation, swelling, and redness in the eye.
Dosage by Body Weight
For ophthalmic suspension: Instill 1 to 2 drops into the conjunctival sac(s) 4 to 6 times daily. In severe cases, drops may be used hourly and graduated to discontinuation as inflammation subsides. For ophthalmic ointment: Apply a small amount (about a 1/2 inch ribbon) into the conjunctival sac(s) 3 to 4 times daily.
