Lamez

Lamez contains Lamotrigine, an anticonvulsant medication. It works by stabilizing hyper-excited nerve membranes and inhibiting the pathological release of glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter. It is primarily used to prevent depressive episodes in bipolar disorder and control various types of epileptic seizures.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosage must be strictly individualized. It is typically started at a very low dose (e.g., 25 mg daily or every other day) and gradually escalated over several weeks to reduce the risk of a severe, potentially life-threatening skin rash (Stevens-Johnson syndrome). Do not stop taking this medication abruptly.
