Ketoconazole Shampoo
Ketoconazole shampoo is a topical antifungal agent. It targets and inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby stopping the growth of yeasts and fungi (such as Malassezia) on the skin and scalp. This helps reduce scaling, flaking, itching, and inflammation.
Dosage by Body Weight
Wet hair and scalp thoroughly. Apply enough shampoo to produce a generous lather and massage gently into the scalp. Leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with warm water. For dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis, typically use twice a week for 2 to 4 weeks. For tinea versicolor, use once daily for up to 5 days. Avoid contact with eyes.
