Kezol

Kezol is an antifungal medication containing Ketoconazole. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting membrane integrity and halting fungal growth. It is available in topical formulations for localized skin and scalp issues and in oral tablet form for severe, systemic fungal infections when alternative therapies are not tolerated or available.

Dosage by Body Weight

Topical: Apply cream to the affected area 1 to 2 times daily. Shampoo should be applied to wet hair, massaged, left for 3 to 5 minutes, and rinsed. Oral: The standard adult dosage for oral tablets is 200 mg to 400 mg once daily, taken with food to maximize absorption. Oral Ketoconazole carries a risk of hepatotoxicity and should be used under strict medical supervision with regular liver function monitoring.
