Foradil

Foradil (formoterol fumarate) is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) bronchodilator. It functions by relaxing the muscles in the airways to improve breathing. It is inhaled orally using a specific Aerolizer inhaler device. It is not a rescue inhaler and should not be used to treat acute asthma attacks.

Dosage by Body Weight

The standard dose for asthma and COPD maintenance is 12 mcg (one capsule) inhaled every 12 hours. For preventing exercise-induced bronchospasm, 12 mcg should be inhaled at least 15 minutes before exercise. Do not exceed 24 mcg (2 capsules) per day. Capsules are for inhalation only via the Aerolizer device and must not be swallowed.
