Cervidil

Cervidil is a vaginal insert containing 10 mg of dinoprostone (prostaglandin E2). It is designed to be released slowly over a 12-hour period to help soften, thin, and dilate the cervix (cervical ripening) in preparation for labor induction.

Dosage by Body Weight

One vaginal insert (10 mg) is placed transversely in the posterior vaginal fornix by a healthcare provider. It must be removed upon onset of active labor, rupture of membranes, uterine tachysystole, or after 12 hours.
