Docetaxel

Docetaxel is a clinically well-established anti-mitotic chemotherapy medication. It belongs to the taxane drug class and works by stabilizing microtubules, preventing their disassembly, which halts cell division and leads to cancer cell death.

Dosage by Body Weight

Docetaxel is administered exclusively via intravenous infusion under the supervision of a qualified oncologist. Dosing is highly individualized and calculated based on the patient's Body Surface Area (BSA) in mg/m² (typically 60-100 mg/m² given every 3 weeks) rather than simple body weight. Premedication with oral corticosteroids is routinely required to prevent severe hypersensitivity reactions and fluid retention.
