Betaxolol
Betaxolol is a selective beta-1 blocker. In oral form, it reduces blood pressure by lowering heart rate and cardiac output. In ophthalmic form, it reduces the production of aqueous humor, thereby lowering pressure inside the eye.
Dosage by Body Weight
For hypertension: Start with 10 mg orally once daily. For glaucoma: Instill 1 to 2 drops of ophthalmic solution into the affected eye(s) twice daily. Always consult your healthcare provider.
