Veetids

Veetids is a brand of penicillin V potassium, a penicillin-class antibacterial drug. It exerts a bactericidal action against penicillin-sensitive microorganisms during the stage of active multiplication by inhibiting cell wall synthesis.

Dosage by Body Weight

For adults and children 12 years and older, the typical dose ranges from 125 mg to 500 mg every 6 to 8 hours depending on the severity of the infection. For children under 12 years of age, dosage is determined by body weight, typically 25 to 50 mg/kg/day divided into 3 to 4 doses. It is best taken on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
