Ultram

Ultram is a centrally-acting prescription opioid analgesic used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain. It works by binding to mu-opioid receptors in the central nervous system and weakly inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin.

Dosage by Body Weight

For adults, the typical dose is 50 mg to 100 mg orally every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain, not to exceed 400 mg per day. Dosage should be individualized to the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
