Tizpa

Tizpa contains Tizanidine, which is a short-acting, centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant. It works by blocking nerve impulses (pain sensations) sent to the brain, specifically acting as an agonist at central alpha-2-adrenergic receptor sites to reduce muscle tone.

Dosage by Body Weight

The initial adult dose is typically 2 mg to 4 mg taken orally every 6 to 8 hours as needed. The dose can be gradually increased if necessary, up to a maximum single dose of 8 mg and a maximum daily dose of 36 mg. Titration must be done carefully under a doctor's supervision.
