Tizan

Tizan is a muscle relaxant containing Tizanidine. It is a short-acting drug used to manage increased muscle tone, cramping, and tightness associated with spasticity. It acts as an agonist at central alpha-2 adrenergic receptor sites, reducing spasticity by increasing presynaptic inhibition of motor neurons.

Dosage by Body Weight

Adult dosage usually begins at 2 mg to 4 mg orally every 6 to 8 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 36 mg per day. Dose titration should be gradual. Avoid abrupt discontinuation. Not recommended for pediatric use.
