Silver Sulfadiazine

Silver sulfadiazine is a topical antimicrobial drug indicated as an adjunct for the prevention and treatment of wound sepsis in patients with second- and third-degree burns. It has broad antimicrobial activity against many Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, as well as yeast.

Dosage by Body Weight

Apply to cleansed and debrided burn wounds once to twice daily to a thickness of approximately 1.5 mm (1/16 inch). The burn areas should be covered with the cream at all times. Reapply immediately if the cream is rubbed off.
