Thermazene

Thermazene is a topical prescription antimicrobial cream containing silver sulfadiazine. It is used as an adjunct treatment to prevent and treat bacterial infections in severe burn wounds. It works by damaging the cell membrane and cell wall of a broad spectrum of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.

Dosage by Body Weight

Cleanse the burn wound and debride any loose tissue. Apply Thermazene cream using a sterile gloved hand to a thickness of approximately 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) to the affected area once or twice daily. The burn wounds should be covered with cream at all times. Reapply immediately if the cream is rubbed or washed off.
