Requip
Requip (ropinirole hydrochloride) is a non-ergoline dopamine agonist. It works by stimulating dopamine receptors in the brain, mimicking the effects of dopamine to help control movement and reduce symptoms of Parkinson's disease and Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS).
Dosage by Body Weight
Dosage must be individualized and titrated gradually under professional medical supervision. Parkinson's Disease: Initiated at 0.25 mg three times daily and titrated weekly. Restless Legs Syndrome: Initiated at 0.25 mg once daily, 1 to 3 hours before bedtime. Do not stop taking this medication abruptly.
