Neupro

Neupro is a transdermal patch formulation of rotigotine, a non-ergoline dopamine agonist. It is applied to the skin once daily and provides continuous delivery of the active drug over 24 hours. It helps stimulate dopamine receptors in the brain to improve motor function in Parkinson's disease and reduce sensory/motor symptoms in Restless Legs Syndrome.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosage is highly individualized and must be titrated under medical supervision. The patch is applied once daily to clean, dry, intact skin of the abdomen, thigh, hip, flank, shoulder, or upper arm. The application site must be rotated daily, avoiding the same spot for at least 14 days. For Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), therapy typically starts at 1 mg/24 hr. For Parkinson's disease, therapy typically starts at 2 mg/24 hr and may be titrated up weekly based on clinical response.
