Reltone

Reltone is a prescription bile acid (ursodiol) used to dissolve gallstones and prevent their formation in high-risk patients. It works by decreasing the amount of cholesterol in the bile, helping to dissolve cholesterol-based stones.

Dosage by Body Weight

Standard adult dose for gallstone dissolution is 8-10 mg/kg/day divided into 2-3 doses, taken with food. For gallstone prevention during weight loss, the dose is typically 300 mg twice daily.
