Orfiril

Orfiril is an anticonvulsant and mood-stabilizing medication containing sodium valproate. It works by increasing brain levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter, which helps to prevent seizures and stabilize mood in bipolar disorder.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosage must be individualized and determined strictly by a physician. Typically initiated at 10-15 mg/kg body weight daily, then increased gradually to an optimal maintenance dose of 20-30 mg/kg daily. Monitor liver function and blood counts regularly during therapy.
