Epilim

Epilim is an antiepileptic and mood-stabilizing medication containing sodium valproate. It works by increasing the brain levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a chemical neurotransmitter that helps suppress abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosage must be individualized and carefully titrated by a specialist. The typical starting dose is 10-15 mg/kg body weight daily, increased gradually to an effective maintenance dose of 20-30 mg/kg daily. Epilim should be taken with or after food. Highly restricted in women of childbearing potential due to high risk of birth defects.
