Mupirocin Calcium

Mupirocin Calcium is a topical antibacterial agent produced by fermentation of Pseudomonas fluorescens. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by reversibly binding to bacterial isoleucyl transfer-RNA synthetase. It is highly active against Gram-positive cocci, including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes.

Dosage by Body Weight

Apply a small amount of ointment or cream to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day for up to 10 days. The treated area may be covered with a gauze dressing if needed. Nasal formulation is applied twice daily inside each nostril.
