Retapamulin

Retapamulin is a semi-synthetic pleuromutilin antibacterial agent. It exerts its therapeutic effect by selectively inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to a unique site on the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome. It is primarily prescribed as a 1% topical ointment for superficial skin infections.
