Altargo

Altargo is a prescription-only topical antibiotic ointment containing retapamulin. It belongs to the pleuromutilin class of antibiotics and works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It is highly active against Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes, making it effective for localized, superficial skin infections.

Dosage by Body Weight

Apply a thin layer of ointment to the affected area twice daily for 5 days. The treated area may be covered with a sterile bandage if necessary. Wash hands thoroughly before and after application.
