Meropenem (Pediatric)

An ultra-broad-spectrum carbapenem. It is preferred in pediatrics over imipenem for meningitis because it has a lower risk of causing seizures.

Dosage by Body Weight

Pediatric dose: 20 mg/kg every 8 hours. For meningitis: 40 mg/kg every 8 hours.
