Lucassin
Lucassin contains Terlipressin, a synthetic vasopressin analogue. It acts as a prodrug for lysine-vasopressin. It induces vasoconstriction of splanchnic and extrahepatic vessels, which lowers portal venous pressure and helps manage hepatorenal syndrome and variceal bleeding.
Dosage by Body Weight
For intravenous use only in a hospital setting under specialist supervision. Adults: Typically 1 to 2 mg IV initially, followed by 1 to 2 mg every 4 to 6 hours for bleeding varices. For hepatorenal syndrome, 0.5 mg to 2 mg IV every 6 hours.
