Glypressin

Glypressin contains Terlipressin, a synthetic vasopressin analogue. It causes vasoconstriction of splanchnic vessels, lowering portal venous pressure to control variceal bleeding and improve renal perfusion in hepatorenal syndrome.

Dosage by Body Weight

For intravenous injection only. Must be administered by a healthcare professional in a hospital setting. Adult dose for esophageal varices is typically 1 to 2 mg IV initially, then 1 to 2 mg every 4 to 6 hours until bleeding is controlled.
