Glucofit

Glucofit contains Metformin Hydrochloride, an oral biguanide antihyperglycemic agent. It works by decreasing hepatic glucose production, decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose, and improving insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.

Dosage by Body Weight

The standard starting dose of Glucofit is 500 mg twice daily or 850 mg once daily, administered with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Dosage increases should be made in increments of 500 mg weekly or 850 mg every 2 weeks, up to a maximum recommended dose of 2550 mg per day.
