Fusilev

Fusilev (levoleucovorin) is a folate analog and the pharmacologically active L-isomer of racemic leucovorin. It is used in oncology as a rescue agent after high-dose methotrexate therapy to protect healthy cells, as an antidote to folic acid antagonist overdose, and to enhance the therapeutic effects of 5-fluorouracil in colorectal cancer.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosing of Fusilev is highly individualized and must be supervised by an oncologist. It is administered intravenously and is typically dosed based on Body Surface Area (BSA) in mg/m² rather than body weight alone, often adjusted in response to serum methotrexate concentration monitoring.
