Palonosetron

Palonosetron is a second-generation 5-HT3 receptor antagonist used to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy and surgery. It has a high binding affinity for the 5-HT3 receptor and a prolonged half-life of approximately 40 hours, making it highly effective for both acute and delayed phases of chemotherapy-induced emesis.

Dosage by Body Weight

For CINV in adults: A single intravenous dose of 0.25 mg administered 30 minutes before chemotherapy, or a single oral capsule of 0.5 mg administered 1 hour before chemotherapy. For pediatric patients (1 month to 17 years), the recommended dose is 20 mcg/kg administered intravenously.
