Diflucan

Diflucan (fluconazole) is a synthetic triazole antifungal agent. It works by inhibiting the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme, preventing the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes.

Dosage by Body Weight

Standard adult dose is 150 mg as a single oral dose for vaginal candidiasis. For other infections, typical adult doses range from 100 mg to 400 mg daily. Pediatric doses are highly dependent on body weight and the specific type of fungal infection, typically ranging from 3 mg/kg to 12 mg/kg once daily.
