Cresemba
Cresemba is an azole antifungal prescription medicine containing isavuconazonium sulfate (a prodrug of isavuconazole). It is designed to treat serious, life-threatening fungal infections by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane.
Dosage by Body Weight
For adults, the typical loading dose is 372 mg of isavuconazonium sulfate administered orally (capsules) or intravenously (injection) every 8 hours for a total of 6 doses (48 hours). This is followed by a maintenance dose of 372 mg once daily, starting 12 to 24 hours after the last loading dose.
