Cadotril

Cadotril contains Racecadotril, which is an oral enkephalinase inhibitor (antidiarrheal). It works by reducing the hypersecretion of water and electrolytes in the intestines without affecting basal secretion or delaying intestinal transit time.

Dosage by Body Weight

Should be taken three times daily, preferably before meals. Treatment should be continued until two normal stools are recorded, up to a maximum of 7 days. It must be co-administered with abundant oral rehydration therapy.
