Baqsimi
Baqsimi is a portable, ready-to-use dry nasal spray formulation of glucagon. It is designed to treat severe hypoglycemic events in people with diabetes. Unlike injectable glucagon, it does not require reconstitution and is absorbed passively through the nasal mucosa, meaning the recipient does not need to inhale or be conscious for it to work.
Dosage by Body Weight
The recommended dose of Baqsimi is 3 mg (one single-use device) administered into one nostril. The dose is the same for adults and children aged 4 years and older, regardless of body weight. If the patient does not respond after 15 minutes, a second dose may be administered from a new device while emergency medical help is on the way.
