Atrovent HFA

Atrovent HFA (ipratropium bromide) is an anticholinergic bronchodilator administered via a metered-dose inhaler. It is used to prevent bronchospasm in people with COPD. It works by blocking cholinergic receptors in bronchial smooth muscle, leading to bronchodilation.

Dosage by Body Weight

The usual starting dose of Atrovent HFA is two inhalations four times a day. Patients may take additional inhalations as required, but the total number of inhalations should not exceed 12 in 24 hours. Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 12 years of age have not been established.
