Ventolin

Ventolin contains salbutamol, a short-acting beta2-adrenergic receptor agonist. It acts by stimulating beta2-receptors in the lungs, leading to rapid relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle and subsequent dilation of the airways to alleviate shortness of breath, wheezing, and coughing.

Dosage by Body Weight

For inhalation: Typically 1 to 2 inhalations (100 to 200 mcg) every 4 to 6 hours as needed for acute bronchospasm. For exercise-induced bronchospasm, take 2 inhalations 15 to 30 minutes before exercise. Oral syrup dosage for pediatric patients is typically based on body weight, divided into 3 or 4 doses per day.
