Mephyton

Mephyton (phytonadione) is a synthetic lipid-soluble analog of vitamin K1. Vitamin K is an essential cofactor required for the hepatic synthesis of active blood clotting factors, including prothrombin (factor II), factor VII, factor IX, and factor X.

Dosage by Body Weight

Adult oral dosage typically ranges from 2.5 mg to 10 mg, up to 25 mg or more depending on the severity of the hypoprothrombinemia and response. Pediatric dosing is highly individualized, requires close medical monitoring, and is not standardly administered based on OTC body weight charts.
