Olanzapine
Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic medication that works by balancing dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain to improve thinking, mood, and behavior.
Dosage by Body Weight
Adult dosage typically starts at 5 mg to 10 mg orally once daily, independent of meals. Adjustments are made in increments of 5 mg at intervals of not less than 24 hours, up to a maximum recommended dose of 20 mg/day. Pediatric use is generally restricted to adolescents (aged 13-17) starting at 2.5 mg to 5 mg once daily.
