Doxercalciferol

Doxercalciferol is a synthetic vitamin D2 analog. It undergoes metabolic activation in the liver to form 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D2, which acts as a vitamin D receptor agonist to suppress parathyroid hormone (PTH) synthesis and secretion.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosage must be individualized and highly monitored based on serum calcium, phosphorus, and intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) levels. Oral doses are typically taken 3 times weekly (for dialysis patients) or once daily (for Stage 3/4 CKD patients).
