Tri-Pak (Azithromycin)
Tri-Pak is a convenient 3-day course of azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic. It contains three 500 mg tablets, designed to maintain therapeutic tissue concentrations for several days after the course is completed. It works by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible microorganisms, thereby interfering with microbial protein synthesis.
Dosage by Body Weight
The standard adult dose is 500 mg (1 tablet) taken orally once daily for 3 consecutive days. Can be taken with or without food. Swallow tablets whole; do not crush or chew. Complete the full 3-day course even if symptoms resolve earlier.
