Spasmex
Spasmex contains trospium chloride, an anticholinergic agent that acts as a muscarinic receptor antagonist. It reduces the contractile tone of smooth muscle in the bladder, thereby increasing bladder capacity and delaying the initial desire to void.
Dosage by Body Weight
The standard adult dose is 20 mg twice daily, or 15 mg to 30 mg two to three times daily, taken on an empty stomach at least one hour before meals. Dosage should be reduced in patients with severe renal impairment.
